What You Will Need: ❏ Two colors of paint ❏ Frog Tape (Green, in the painting section of any big box or hardware store) ❏ Level (old school or lazer) ❏ Pencil ❏ Tape Measure ❏ Exacto Knife or Razor Blade ❏ Paint Brush & Roller ❏ Drop Cloth (to cover flooring)
Steps to Perfect Stripes: ➢ Tape off adjacent walls if you will not be painting them. ➢ Chose the lighter color of your 2 colors and paint two coats of paint on your wall. Let dry (cure overnight if possible) ➢ Measure your wall and determine how wide you would like your stripes to be. Wider, chunkier stripes are somewhat easier to manage. ➢ Measure off your stripes and mark with pencil - in several places across the wall. If you must have a wider stripe due to available wall space, leave it on the bottom. It won’t be very noticable. ➢ Place tape on the INSIDE of each stripe. Use level to make sure tape and stripes are straight. If your wall is not perfectly straight this portion can be challenging. Keep going! ➢ Use your base color of paint to seal the outside edges of tape - the side that will be touching your other color. Allow to dry to the touch but not cure. ➢ Paint on your darker stripe color. Allow to dry to the touch but not cure. Decide if you need a 2nd coat and apply if so. Again, allow to dry to the touch but not cure. ➢ Score tape edges lightly with exacto knife or razor. Gently! ➢ Pull tape slowly at a 45 degree angle. ➢ Enjoy your handiwork!
